Well it looks like Paramount decided to release one last Transformers 3 trailer, despite Michael Bay saying that the second Dark of the Moon teaser trailer of April would be the final one released before the movie’s debut in July.

In the new official Transformers 3 trailer (this is the third one after the Transformers 3 Superbowl trailer of late January), we get to see an even more spectacularly-rendered Shockwave, Megatron’s acolyte in the Transformers storyline (although, in truth, Shockwave transformer looks like he would hand Megatron’s a resounding thrashing, wielding some kind of cannon that’s at least as long as the Decepticon Barricade). It does, however, look like the butt-kicking and face-welding that Megatron received from Optimus Prime in Revenge of the Fallen has somehow caused the Decepticon leader’s overall power-level to decrease; gone is the fearsome Cybertronian tank-mode that was his vehicle-alternative; it has been downgraded somewhat to a land-bound truck. Well…not just any truck, of course – it’s an armored “tank” truck (what is it with this guy and tanks?) that boasts a chassis as long as Optimus Prime’s Peterbilt. While somewhat large and imposing, the tank truck alt-mode does look somewhat….dirty. Take that, Decepticons.

The Transformers 3 plot is delved into a bit deeper in the most recent – and certainly final, this time – in the Transformers3 trailer. It appears, suggestively at least; that the government is working with the Decepticons, unbeknownst to the general public (isn’t it always. That’s probably the modern definition of government!). If there was one thing we were hoping to see that hasn’t yet been shown in any dark of the moon teaser trailer, it’s Shockwave’s alt-mode. Clearly, that city-leveling cannon will play a prominent part in whatever it is, simply because it’s too difficult to hide! Alas, I guess you have to leave something for the Dark of the Moon movie, itself.
For a few weeks now, several new transformers have been released, all of which will appear in Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon. None of these had been made available by Paramount Pictures before the Superbowl Transformers trailer, and they appear to be the counter to the Autobot elite strike force team, The Wreckers.

- Driller: other than the planet-sized Unicron of Transformers lore, this mechanical Kraken-like monstrosity may be the biggest Transformer to date. You see it in the post-Superbowl Transformers trailers as Cybertronian tentacles crushing a skyscraper. Yeah. And, it’s Shockwave’s pet (although I tend to laugh at pets that are bigger than the owner. Do you have a polar bear chained to a tree in your backyard?)

- Laserbeak transformers: in the post-Superbowl Transformers 3 trailer, Laserbeak transformer is that little mechanical dragon seen flying above the construction site. Or maybe that’s just the city of Chicago in ruins. Why do I feel like at least 3 Autobots are going to die in Dark of the Moon??

- The Dreads: Aha! No we get to the true adversaries of the Autobots Navy-Seal equivalents. The Dreads are the post Superbowl transformers trailer Decepticons, and consist of Crankcas, Hatchet, and Crowbar. They look like FBI. Which might not be by accident:

| Brawl Transformer |
- Brawl: If I was an Autobot, and I believed in their god Primus, I would pray that Brawl doesn’t appear on the battlefield. Why? Well, because he’s literally made for it. Consumed by the very Art of War, Brawl probably read said book on Kindle and spends every waking moment applying its precepts. He is not a fun character – which would be ok if he wasn’t a tank.

- Long Haul: Sometimes it just seems like the Decepticons have a printing press where they just turn out tooled-up tanks and tank-equivalents. Meet Long Haul. He’s a beast.
